Inspired by Greek folklore, Calypso was the most beautiful Sea Nymph who lived on the enchanting island of Ogygia. When Odysseus is shipwrecked and washes to her island she falls deeply in love with him and offers him immortality to stay with her forever. Odysseus longs to return to his wife and after a message is sent from Zeus, Calypso helps Odysseus build a raft and showers him with gifts before she watches him sail away, leaving her brokenhearted.
